Aegialis Hotel & Spa

The Aegialis Hotel & Spa is its only five star hotel Amorgos and is built on a hairpin on the road from Aegiali to Tholaria. The hotel is a large complex, consisting of 55 traditionally furnished and fully equipped rooms and suites and it is no coincidence that it has been described by its guests as the "jewel of Amorgos".

The first thing that fascinates you is Stunning views of the bay of Aegiali, while opposite stands the imposing volume of Krikellos (the highest mountain of the island) and in the background the Aegean Sea. A stunning view from both the common areas located on many levels, the large and tasteful swimming pool with the bridge, and of course from the rooms.

The hotel breakfast is one of the first to join the program «Greek breakfast» of the Hotel Chamber of Greece and has a great wealth of local delicacies, while the restaurant offers mainly Greek cuisine and a wide variety of Greek wines.

The Aegialis Hotel & Spa has one of the largest centers thalassotherapy in the Cyclades, gym, indoor pool and areas for Spa and massage with magical views of the bay of Aegiali.

The owner of the hotel Irini Giannakopoulou, an immobile and versatile woman, is an Amorgian bride who married at the age of 18 and left with her husband Nikita for New Jersey in 1972.

"We worked there very hard, we were never afraid of work. In America I learned that there is nothing that does not happen. When there is a will, everything is done! Returning to the island after 10 years, Nikitas envisioned that at this turn, where there was nothing, a very nice hotel could be built. We started the excavations - the whole mountain had to be dug - and 1992 the hotel was built. And immediately we started the promotion of the island, because there were no people who knew Amorgos. With entries, participation in international tourism fairs, begins and attracts Greeks and foreigners. Thus, Aegialis Hotel & Spa is connected to Amorgos and gives its mark ".

Informed with all the trends of the modern hotel, but also knowing very well what has to do with the authentic life of the island, the locations, the sights, the holidays the local products and of course the modern reality of Amorgos since she is also a municipal councilor, Irini is on her feet from morning to night supervising everything and encouraging her clients to get to know Amorgos in all ways (and with lessons local cooking!).
