Lambiri is a little (246 inhabitants) village by the sea not far from Seliantika and Longo with its own lovely little cove on which Mazarakis Fish Taverna is located.
Andreas Mazarakis was a fisherman from the cradle and in 1948 he decided to open a taverna on the water where he could share his catch. His family helped, along with happy customers, and in the past 70 years it has become perhaps the most famous and professionally run taverna in the whole region of Aigialeia.
Its trademark was always high quality service and a huge variety of freshly caught fish, most of them hauled in from the family’s own caique. His grandchilden have continued with the same flair and passion and with even greater knowledge and awareness of modern culinary tastes and trends.
Its vantage point on a hillock above the sea – called ‘God’s Balcony’ – the stunning view and the shade provided by giant umbrella pines make the exceptionally good seafood and fish taste even better. Needless to say, the surroundings are serene and tranquil, none of the bustle and fuss of a typical seaside taverna in summer.
Superlative ingredients are another guarantee of quality: extra virgin olive oil, Greek feta, garden fresh potatoes, shellfish, lobster pasta, fine meat in addition to the catch of the day.
And one more thing. Mazarakis is the ideal spot for those romantic souls who have a special fondness for sunsets and want to combine enjoying it with delicious food.
