Cavino Winery

Cavino has been active in the field of wine and beverage production since 1958. The modern Cavino Winery is located next to their vineyards in the northwest part of Aigialeia, in the region of Achaia, an area which has been known for its wines since antiquity.

The supervision of all Cavino's vineyards, their own and those of their associates, is strictly carried out by qualified specialist agronomists. Their constant attention and scientific observation leads to wine grapes of a high standard.

The Cavino winery's stainless steel tanks, with cooling mantles to ensure stable temperatures during the fermentation process, underground climatised ageing cellars, small oak barrels, ultramodern automated bottling lines and air conditioned storage spaces for bottled wines are some of the prerequisites for the production of fine wines. One of the largest Greek exporters of bottled wines, Cavino exports to more than 40 countries, including - apart from the EU - Russia, China, Brazil, the US, Canada and others. In fact, exports account for 80% of the company annual production. Each year Cavino wines participate in international competitions and come away with the highest awards in their categories.

One of these awards was the Best Greek Wine Producer Trophy of 2009 at the International Wine & Spirit Competition, among the most important of such events.

Acquired by Cavino Winery in 1999, Domain Mega Spileo, at the 21st kilometer of the Diakofto-Kalavryta road, is another outstanding winery, with a limited production of high quality vintages. The traditional stone building is located in an area of ​​surprising beauty at an altitude of 880 m and a view of the Vouraikos gorge. Its history begins as long ago as 1550, since it is directly connected with the monastery of the same name, which in itself is one of the highlights of the district.

Cavino Winery produces dozens of labels of wines that fall into the following categories: Classic Cavino wines, Deus series, dessert wines, premium wines, Deus semi-sparkling, Mega Spileo.
