Maria Douvogianni following them faithfully family recipes passed from mother to daughter creates traditional products with its purest ingredients Messinian Land. The main characteristic of Maria, - apart from her smile - is her unbridled imagination and the courage to constantly create new creations and new products. We visited her at Messina in her laboratory:

«In the beginning I made sweets and jam for other standardizers. An accident brought me close to Costa Navarino and his chef, Doxi Bekri, and since then I have a lasting and trusting relationship with them. I like to change my thoughts with the chefs, because the mind is liberated, lately I work with the chef Nikos Fotiadis, I like our cooperation very much».

In Maria's workshop we came across an incredible number of codes, they exceeded one hundred, and we had to "study" the long list of products of the Messinian Tradition to realize the range of her proposals.

First of all, in the Messinian Tradition, Maria divides her products into categories:

Spoon sweets, jams, pate and marinade, chutney, concentrated juices, sweets and jams with stevia.

From spoon sweets We singled out plum, sour cherry, carrot, bilberry and orange but also special options such as olive stuffed with almond and quince with pomegranate.

In a correspondingly large variety are also presented the jams with flavors such as raspberry, strawberry, lemon, onion in red wine, tomato with orange, orange with white chocolate and lemon.

«We have a large family estate where we grow most of our fruits and vegetables. I go down to popular market of Kalamata, to see what the small producers bring us. I remember once there were 5-6 stalls around 100 kg of Taygetos cherries left. I got them on the spot, I almost left them, and made a wonderful batch of sweet cherries!»
