Lamp

Η Lampi beach is located in the northern part of it Patmos and is 9,5 km from the center of the island. The road is very good and in about a quarter of Staircase You can reach a closed bay and a beach that is famous for its beautiful and colorful pebbles with shapes reminiscent of expressionist paintings of the early 20th century.

In this secluded place is the Lampi Fish Tavern. It first operated as a café in the late 1950s. In the early years, people came by boat or on foot, some time from the nearby public. I first visited it in the 1970s. Forty years later, almost nothing has changed. The same calm, the surrounding area unscathed by construction activity, the same orchards, the emblematic built table on the beach and the paved road ending up in a new well-built parking lot with beautiful dry stone around it. Unfortunately only the largest multicolored stones have disappeared.

As far as the fish tavern is concerned, there have been pleasant developments. The menu is much richer, in addition to the salads with boiled vegetables from their own vegetable garden and the relative firsts, there were crayfish and fish cooked with craftsmanship, some meat and an interesting wine list. The specialty of the store is the saganaki flabe with vermouth that is personally prepared by Mrs. Kaiti (tavern owner).

Her husband is in charge of baking, while Panagiotis, her son, is in charge of the orders, and when the clientele increases in the summer, both his sisters come to help. Visitors are always discreet and sought after with the majority of customers being foreigners.
