Isolated in Kampos

At the top Plain at Chios and specifically in the area Caves Is located tavern Apomero. Name and thing because indeed - especially at the time it was built - the tavern is located in a secluded spot, complex enough to reach through the straits of Kampos. But the end of the road, the spectacle compensates you, because from here you have the whole view of the area, the citrus gardens, the labyrinthine streets with the high walls built with incense stone, the imposing mansions and in the background the sea and Cesme.

"My father Giannis, a cook on Chandris' ships, and my mother Anthia (Anthoula), a good cook, raised me in an environment rich in flavors and discussions about food. I started my professional life as an electrician, but very soon I discovered that my light was in cooking. Apart from the enchanting landscape and the well-kept space, the kitchen in Apomeros is well-kept, with an emphasis on Oriental and Asia Minor delicacies and of course the meats on the grill where Michalis handles them personally as he pays great attention to the quality of the raw materials he uses.

We tried as many dishes as we could handle… and here it is our choices:

Friday-Saturday Apomero has fine live music by excellent organ players.

Be careful to reach Apomeros without the confusion of GPS that throws you in the labyrinth of the narrows of Kampos, follow the relevant signs and start from the traffic light of the main road, which goes through Kampos to Mastic villages.
