I have been traveling to Greece for years. It is a need to get to know a world that is unknown to many of us who live in the city. Landscapes of indescribable beauty, places blessed, but often in obscurity. People who toil, who strive and persevere, who produce work with love and care for what they do. But also local communities that celebrate, that keep customs and traditions in a cohesion and a continuum, unexpectedly alive. So, I recorded all over Greece, festivals, cafes, taverns, producers, local products and recipes collected in the contents of my 6 respective books.

During my travels, all these years, I wrote conveying some impressions on my facebook and blog and I saw a beautiful relationship being created, both with the people I had met in various places, and with friends and acquaintances, who they were watching me and I was happy to see them sending me thank you messages because I was traveling with them.

For the last five years I have plowed Greece from one end to the other for its organization "Greek Breakfast", a program of the Hotel Chamber of Greece for the integration of Greek local products in hotels across the country. Then I noticed the deficit that existed in the region, in terms of highlighting gastronomy and its recording through a structured structure. While the contribution of the gastronomic wealth of each place was clear in shaping its identity as a tourist destination, I saw that there was no corresponding systematic promotion of local gastronomic goods.

My involvement with him Tourism and his connection with him Culture, - a relationship that I have always pursued through actions and institutional initiatives - has led me to what I am presenting to you today. A website to meet the needs of the traveler who wants to get to know a place, to navigate, to travel and to be informed about the gastronomic - and not only - interests of each area. So, I wanted o Guide to Greek Gastronomy to become necessary tool for any browser who on the occasion of gastronomy wants to get to know Greece more deeply.

The site greekgastronomyguide.gr was created to highlight the Greek gastronomy in its entirety, through a mosaic, whose tiles are the pieces that will compose the overall image of the Gastronomy of our country.

For the creation of this website we embraced all aspects and all dimensions of Greek Gastronomy, and this is because we believe that the logic of a chain that connects the links: Places - Landscapes - Environment - Agricultural Economy - Agri-Food Products - Gastronomy - Culture - Tourism can be the key pillar of the new economic development of the country.

The articles that have already been written are hundreds and the photos are thousands. The material that has been prepared for the website for a year was not based and did not want to be left in the dark anymore. So we come out in the first phase with 16 destinations, 250 entries and 2500 photos and a goal at the end of 2016 to have posted 40 destinations 800 entries and 8000 photos. And so on…
