Greek Breakfast of Amorgos

The event organized by Hotel Chamber of Greece and Municipality of Amorgos for Greek Breakfast of Amorgos in the hotel Aegialis Hotel & SpaIn Aegiali, one of the first Greek hotels to adopt the Greek Breakfast at Amorgos.

All attendees had the opportunity to try the special Amorgian flavors, which admittedly were excellent.

With this event the Hotel Chamber successfully arrived at 30th Greek Breakfast. Thirty regions of the country have created their own local Greek Breakfast Model, while hundreds of producers, hoteliers and chefs who attended these events were convinced and committed to promoting local products and local recipes.

They honored the event with their presence the Mayor of Amorgos Nikolaos Fostieris, the Municipal Councilors - Lefteris Karaiskos, Nikolaos Vassalos, Irini Giannakopoulou - Giannis Synodinos president of the Amorgos Aegiali Association, Nikos Portokalis the correspondent of the newspaper Aigamos agri-food products (cheese, honey, herbs, pastries, sweets), as well as representatives of hotels and rooms for rent.

The delicacies presented at the Greek Breakfast of Amorgos were:

  • homemade jams (watermelon, orange, lemon, grapefruit),
  • olive bread and raisin bread from the Bakery of Nikos Vassalos of Lagada,
  • pastelia, loukoumia, baked raki by Antonis Vekris of the company Amorgion,
  • traditional cheeses of Amorgos (gruyere, melichloro, mizithra) by the cheesemakers Vlavianos George and his son Leonidas,
  • pastel, rice milk, Turkish delights, ascending pancakes, dry melt, cheese pies, chocolate cakes, cereal bars with honey, Amorgian mizithra and olives from the confectionery Honey and Cinnamon,
  • and finally dry melt, donuts, pancakes, honey, green pies, cheese pies, sesame buns, drunk Amorgian, jams, Amorgian omelets, Amorgian eggs, Amorgian cheeses, Amorgian davakia, chocolate pies, cakes, ravani, pasta flores, orange pies, dried figs, almonds and walnuts, prepared by the hotel Aegialis Hotel & Spa.

The gathering closed with a discussion of all participants with the head of the Hellenic Breakfast and member of the Board of FDI George Pitta, which described the procedures for the inclusion of hotels in the Greek Breakfast and the efforts that the island must make to develop as a gastronomic destination.
