The Greek breakfast of Sifnos at Panagia tou Vounou

The people of Sifnos were not satisfied with the presentation of Proinos two years ago on their island, but also with their successful presence at the exhibition HORECA 2016 at the XEE stand, but they wanted - and rightly so - to repeat it in a much more symbolic and impressive space.

Η Our Lady of the Mountain is one of the reference points of Sifnos. This is a monastery which in recent years is inactive and is located on the road to Platys Gialos.

Complex architecture building which was built in 1813 and with its simple volume, the beautiful sea tourlo and its ornate bell tower overlooks high from the top of the hill. Stone terraces in the outer courtyard under the large pines, the dazzling whiteness of the building, bathed in the sun and the absolute silence compose a scene of harmony and calm and it is no coincidence that in its cells was hosted the period 9-24 July 1915 the great author Nikos Kazantzakis.

The katholikon of the monastery is dedicated to Entrances of the Virgin while the icon of the Virgin of the Infant in the Temple of the Sanctuary is typical, which observes you with its sweet eyes in any corner of the church, no matter where you stand.

In the outer precinct of the monastery and in front of the panoramic view of the bay of Platys Gialos, an endless beach of six whole kilometers with the endless blue of the Aegean, the Greek Breakfast of Sifnos.

To the around two hundred visitors who went up to the Monastery of Panagia tou Vounou, after a short briefing on how it was created and developed, that is, with 8 years of work, 40 models of Greek Breakfast were created in respective areas of Greece and how the products and the recipes of each of them, the Greek Breakfast of Sifnos accompanied by a very informative and informative publication, work of the Cultural Association of Sifnos:

With variations and additions to the above, depending on the season, we can have a fairly rich and interesting buffet.

In place of sage, fennel, mint, marjoram, bee (louiza). Eggs with maneuver rolled, fried zucchini with eggs, sour cream.

And in sweet, cream cheese, with honey, lollipop, gingerbread, cookies, baked macaroons…

And figs and grapes "

After the show and the relevant photo shoot for the Greek Breakfast of Sifnos, Greeks and Foreigners tasted the goodies of Sifnos and for another we realized how lucky we are to be in this blessed place.
