The oven of Mrs. Milia
In the historic square of March 17 in Areopolis - from where the revolution in 1821 began Mani - is the metropolitan church of Taxiarches, outside which hangs the flag of Mani (on a white background a square blue cross with the slogan "Victory or Death, when or on them"). At the bottom of the square there is one stone well and just behind it a traditional oven of 200 years, perhaps the oldest in the Peloponnese! It is said "The Bread of the Apple".
Η Milia Tsatsouli He married a man from Mania, who lost him when he was only 29 years old and had 6 children. Since then she has devoted herself to the wood-fired oven of her in-laws and her children.
In 2012, her multigrain bread was awarded in a competition as the best bread in Greece.
Mrs. Milia takes out every morning from the wood-fired oven freshly kneaded village bread, cookies, rusks, Mani lalangia, cheese pies, green pies, drawn pies.
The bakery "To Psomi tis Milias" is honored, apart from the locals, by many visitors of Areopolis to get its delicious breads but also to get to know its master.
