Tzafetta Cheese Factory

The Tzafetta cheese factory SA located in Tyrnavos and is one of the most reputable companies in the industry. It draws the raw material from the wider Thessaly and focusing on Tyrnavos from 1936 three generations of Jafetta make use of the livestock tradition of the area.

A standard privately owned factory unit of 3.500 sq.m. with state-of-the-art technological equipment, with strict application of certified Quality Management Systems according to the international standards ISO 22000: 2005 and IFS and with a trained staff welcomes the abundant goat's and sheep's milk and produces a series of dairy products.

The main products, the "vendettas" of Tzafetta SA are the following:

• The classic feta PDO from 100% pasteurized goat's and sheep's milk.
• Goat cheese, a traditional white cheese aged for two months, rich in nutritional characteristics, with a special and mildly spicy taste.
• Light cheese, a white brine cheese, two months old with a mild taste and only 12% fat produced from Greek, partially skimmed goat's and sheep's milk, ideal for a low fat diet.
• Manouri PDO, a traditional fresh whey cheese with a characteristic rich creamy taste produced exclusively from 100% goat's and sheep's whey and goat's and sheep's cream.
• Dry mizithra, a traditional hard whey cheese with a salty and at the same time spicy taste produced after the partial drying of the fresh sheep and goat mizithra.
• Cream cheese, a fresh whey cheese produced from goat's and sheep's whey fortified with milk. Light and creamy with low salt and fat content.
