In its famous grove Saint Paraskevi - the historic church -800 meters north of it Arnea, or visit its Halkidiki, is the restaurant Bakatsianos. Made of stone and wood, it nests in the enchanting forest of tall oaks and whatever season you find here, you will meet a nature that will shock you with its special beauty.

The owner of the restaurant is Dimitris Polyzos (Bakatsianos is the family patatsukli), a Greek child born in Brussels, studied gastronomy, worked alongside important chefs and after completing his tours of the world, decided to return and land in his homeland.

Combining his European experience and knowledge in modern gastronomic trends, with the authentic cuisine of his place - the traditional recipes of Halkidiki, but also her Of Macedonia in general - and local products created a variety of excellent appetizers, ouzo appetizers and delicacies accompanied by local tsipouro or some wine from its rich wine cellar. Dimitris gives a great basis to the ingredients with which he cooks and that is why every morning, he chooses them from his suppliers.

"When you have such raw materials, game, meat, mushrooms, cheese, vegetables, honey, it does not take much art to create", he explains to us with a smile.

From menu Its - the prices were very good - I distinguished from the first the fish pasturma, the forest potato (potatoes in clay, gratinated with cheese, eggs and Holomonta truffle), the smoked octopus and the bougiurdi.

Of the meats - which is ultimately the main body of the menu - sausages (I have not eaten more delicious and juicy, as they are produced from the first pork, with spices and orange), pork and beef steaks, pork knuckle in the hull and of course the dreamy variety of meats!

Dimitris, in addition to his regular menu, often creates more avant garde dishes, when he represents the organization Mount Athos Area Halkidiki in exhibitions in Greece and abroad. One of them was the kataifi in the shape of an elaborate ball, which contained a gorgeous yogurt with pieces of dessert.
