Kyma cafe has been operating since 1948 and it is the oldest and most popular shop on the island. Here is Nikitas - the so-called τσιφτης - he played as a child with his friends and in 1964 he received it from his father. In one corner - he tells us - there was an old fire pit with wood, where coffees were baked and food was cooked, and in winter the guests gathered around the fire to warm themselves. Culture, that is, the port to moor ships in the dock and not the harbor, as well as electricity, came to I was shaking in the 1980s, from the last parts of Greece.

The "Wave" is at the same time cafe, opens from 7 am to welcome the ship, all day operates as small supermarket, and at night like tavern closing late at night. After all, it is the only store that operates winter-summer, and where the locals gather for coffee, backgammon and paper.

Nikitas and his son Giorgos may be in charge, but the main personality of the cafe is his wife, Vangelio.

Η Mrs. Vangelio with expressive eyes and restless conversations, she is out of the sunrise to prepare all her dishes for the evening. Pasticcio, those voluptuous portions of it that have no end, the meatballs, the potato goat and much more… Not that she will not miss her opportunities for social commentary! When the cooking is over, she goes to bed, around noon, when her friends arrive and grab the trunk. No news will escape and no one will be busy.
