Argyrou Estate

Η Silver canvas was founded in 1903 by George Argyros. At that time his ambition was to expand the vineyard to 20 acres and for that he created the winery. In 1950 the winery passed into the hands of Matthew's son, who expanded the vineyard to 60 acres. In 1974 Giannis Argyros took over who increased the area of ​​the vineyard to 260 acres, modernized the winery ("Silver Estate") and worked hard to ensure quality.

The Vincado Silver of 1987 is the best Vincado created in Santorini, while one of the most important awards he won was in 2005 and 2006 when the winery was awarded in the 100 top wineries in the world by the prestigious magazine Wine and Spirits.

Ο Argyros vineyard in Episkopi Gonia at an altitude of 35-150 meters with east orientation, nowadays it has expanded to 400 acres, and is the largest single vineyard in Santorini. In 2016, his new winery will be inaugurated, which will provide the 500.000 bottles, making it the second largest producer on the island.

The most famous wines of the Argyros estate are Assyrtiko Argyrou, the estate Argyrou, the estate Argyrou Vareli, the Mavrotragano Argyrou, the Vinsanto Argyrou and the Chocolate Vinsanto Argyrou, while most of its production is directed to foreign markets.
