Ο Vangelis Gerovassiliou before he even founded his own winery (1981) Gerovasiliou Estate started in 1976, thanks to its special interest in the promotion of the wine heritage, to collect tools of viticulture, winemaking, bottling and coral production from around the world, which are presented in the heart of the winery of the Estate in Epanomi ThessalonikiAt Gerovasiliou Wine Museum.

The opener collection in particular, numbers more than 2600 items and ranks it as one of the largest opener collectors in the world.

The project of the construction of the museum was designed and implemented by the professors of the Master of Museology-Culture Management at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Matoula Skaltsa (museologist) and Pano John (architect) and was inaugurated 2008. The presentation of the exhibits is done in thematic sections accompanied by photographs and excellent explanatory texts.

Then the sections "The vine", "The vinification", "The barrel", "The maturation" present the collection of tools and utensils, which together with texts, images and animations three-dimensional, bring to life the processes by which man cultivates the vineyard and makes wine.

Finally, the "Moments" from Greek and foreign cinema as well as photographic snapshots remind of the importance of wine in the life of man and society.

Leaving the Gerovasiliou Wine Museum, one is dominated by many pleasant emotions. First of all, one admiration for the inspirer and creator of all these achievements, Vangelis Gerovasiliou. Secondly, you realize them multiple dimensions of wine diachronic and intra-local and of course the role it played in the social, economic and symbolic life of the universe and especially of Greece. Finally, you feel that there are creations in Greece like those of Vangelis Gerovassilios where they have nothing to envy from their European counterparts.

And this is very comforting and good for our health.
