Lux - Natural Greek Pleasure

The L.ux, her pride Achaia, is today the largest Greek soft drink and juice company.

It all started in the early 1950s when at the junction of Pantokratoros and Ilias streets, behind the homonymous historic church, Panagiotis Marlafekas establishes the "Deluxe" (which from the beginning the logo of "lux" was written in lower case), a small family business that initially produces orange juice, lemonade and gas.

The production processes were of course primitive: "Bottling was done by hand, they were capped by hand", with corresponding, for the time, methods the distribution was done, "by cart". Practical common for "Lux" but also for the other 11 similarly sized competing companies of the Achaean capital

The 1972 Lux finds in Headwaters its "natural" seat is a small Paradise, an area with lush nature, full of centuries-old plane trees, reminiscent of a promised land. Panagiotis Marlafekas, makes the great courage for the data of that time, to go far from Patras and from the daily distribution points, "in the middle of nowhere" and, above all, without basic infrastructure! No phone, no electricity!

But this place hid in their subsoil a real treasure, the excellent quality water of Kefalovrysso, a water that is light, oligometallic and of rare natural value, which in the course proved to be the powerful weapon and the great comparative advantage for the "Lux" soft drinks.

Since then the progress of the company has been leaps and bounds and the transition to the 21st century finds the new generation, the John, Costa and Plato Marlafeka at the helm.

Today "Lux" has three privately owned state-of-the-art units that cover a total area of ​​33.000 sq.m. of which 7.800 sq.m. are covered areas. The production and bottling unit in Kefalovryso, with state-of-the-art machinery, with fully automated processes and with the most advanced international methods of quality control, hygiene and packaging. The packaging production unit in Aigio makes "Lux" one of the few Greek companies in the industry that has a vertical packaging production unit. Finally, the third unit is the distribution center, in the Saravali area, where more than 60.000.000 packages will start from here to reach their destination.

These units directly and indirectly employ 130 employees and the development of its network is supported by more than 450 representatives that geographically cover the whole country.

"Lux" experienced the contraction of the Greek soft drink market with the dynamic entry of foreign strong soft drink brands, stubbornly resisted (and high costs) and, as the largest Greek soft drink and juice company, actively participated in the efforts to rejuvenate the space. .

Η research is the first priority for "Lux" as every year it introduces innovative products to the market even internationally, such as the new luxury plus' n light series, constantly renewing its product range. The result of this action is her ongoing awards in national and international institutions such as: "Strongest Companies in Greece", Innovation and Creative Entrepreneurship Award, (ESA) "Famous Brands", Excellence as a Brand Product and Praise for Business Excellence (Made Awards in Greece), "Public National Champion", "Diamonds" of Greek Industry "," Gulfood Innovation Awards ", Top Super Brand in the category of non-alcoholic beverages and beverages.

Somehow the small local company of Patras became the largest Greek soft drink company and dares to look at the foreign multinationals and become the "good example" for Greek entrepreneurship.
