The hotel Hydrea Exclusive Hospitality hosted in its historic mansion Φραγκίσκου Βουλγαρη, which is located at the entrance of the port of Hydra, right next to the impressive four-storey mansion of Tombazis that was turned into a hostel of the School of Fine Arts.

The building is one of the most important mansions of 1800, of the same period, as the mansions of Lazaros Koundouriotis, Georgios Kountouriotis, Lazaros Tsamadou, but also of Kriezi, Gorogianni, Votsi, Oikonomou, Gika, when the Hydra with its strong fleet dominated the Mediterranean in shipping and trade. It was the time when the rich shipowners, having traveled a lot, wanted to introduce to Hydra the features of a European architecture so that they too could join the way of life of the western bourgeois society and show their power and prestige on the island.

The mansion of Francis Voulgaris was built in 1803 and was the private residence of Francis Voulgaris and his family. Thanks to its strategic location in front of the port, it was a focal point during the Turkish occupation.

This manorial and historic building, which was characterized by the antiquities service and the Ministry of Culture historical monument and museum, was renovated and turned into a hotel in 2010.

The visitor from the first moment he enters the premises of Hydrea Exclusive Hospitality, in this imposing mansion, will be overwhelmed by the historical weight of the space, but also from diffuse atmosphere of elegance, the nobility and the spaciousness of the environment.

The large narrow windows with their discreet embossed decorative edging, give rhythm to the view and view of the entire port of Hydra, combined with mostly oriental elements, such as the wood-carved "baklavadot" ceilings in the interior, traditional elements marry of Greek island architecture with the light luxury of the Ottoman rococo.

The historical value of the building is underlined, at the same time, by the elements that have been preserved unchanged in it over the years. The marble fountain in the ballroom and the loft of the musicians have been preserved. Oil paintings of well-known painters of historical value with mainly naval content, have also been preserved in central areas of the accommodation. However, many of them, as well as paintings of the time, are still housed in the Hydrea Exclusive Hospitality, and specifically in the main hall, where the famous treaty was signed.

Excellently restored, with simple changes in terms of the architectural part and many elements that represent its historical and imposing nature, the mansion is considered as one of the most unique and historic hotels in the country, resulting in winning many awards including best historic hotel in Greece.
