Residence of Anna Sarri Karabesini

The residence of Anna Sarri Karabesini, of the largest female voice of the Dodecanese, is a humble narrow house in front of the sea, but always open for friends to visit often and to sing, drink, eat and tell stories.

She remembers her youth, her parents, her five sisters and her paternal home in Antimachia, where they regularly had parties and parties. She first became famous in Athens in the early 50's together with Domna Samiou when she sang in the choir of the great teacher Simon Karas. It welcomes its guests in the small lounge, where the walls are drowned in photographs, awards and souvenirs, and quickly serves ouzo with appetizers - of course, the famous wine cheese of Kos, the drinking cheese.

Kyra-Anna, with a razor-sharp mind and the heart of a teenage girl, even though she is 90 years old, has not forgotten anything. She reminisces about her life, and remembers her father from her childhood.

Mrs. Anna, queen in her poverty, talks about her discography, the people she collaborated with - for everyone has a good reason - her travels to the ends of the earth in order to give joy to Greeks abroad. And when you tell her about your likes, her songs that you like, then she, like a jukebox, remembers outside and mixed up which of the 26 big vinyl records they are on and in which order, and she immediately puts the song on your turntable.
