Kos Aktis Art Hotel

That's it Kos Aktis Art Hotel is one of the rare cases of hotels in Greece that with a glorious past was rebuilt in such a way as to acquire even greater value.

Built in a privileged spot in the city center, right in front of the sea, from the 60's until KOS XENIA, was the reference point of the island. It was the time when the National Tourism Organization (EOT) implemented a state program for the promotion and development of tourism in Greece, part of which was the construction of "Xenia" hotels in natural landscapes of rare beauty or in areas of archaeological interest. In the 60's, Filippos Vokos, one of the most important architects of the post-war period, designed "Xenia" in the city of Mr. on Vassileos Georgiou Street.

The years passed and Xenia, not responding to the needs of the end of the 20th century, withered and most of them became deserted.

"Our dream was to revive a myth and we did it", tells us the Nikos Pouliou, owner of the hotel and continues:

"The renovation work was undertaken by the well-known office of ISV architects, resulting in the transformation of the mythical Xenia into the new luxurious and minimalist design Kos Aktis Art Hotel, reminding us that some myths live forever. On the beach with 36 rooms and 6 junior suites, with the amazing H2O restaurant, gym and meeting room for 10 people, Kos Aktis Art Hotel exceeds all expectations ".

Architecturally the intervention is unparalleled. Wood and glass star in a minimalist view and marry the classic stonework. The single windows of the corridors and the rooms make it perfectly airy and allow the natural communication of the building with the surrounding areas. The thick glass on the balconies of the rooms - numerous divided into three floors -, allows a great view of Bodrum, which is within walking distance from the Greek coast. The same transparency prevails inside the rooms. This was one of the first times in Greek architecture, where the bathroom visually communicated - with the seductive detail of a glass horizontal stripe in the partition - with the bedroom, allowing the gaze to wander to the sea.

Gastronomy is another solid piece of the Kos Aktis Art Hotel. The bar restaurant H2O offers its guests all day, the opportunity to enjoy their coffee, food or drink. Talented Chefs achieve a charming marriage of Greek cuisine with international combinations and all this by the sea.

The hotel breakfast rich with goodies and with the mark "Greek breakfast" from its inception. Fluffy breads with various doughs, from multigrain and rye to classic loaves, breadsticks and baked rusks, seasonal fruits, hearty Greek pies, a variety of Greek cheeses, such as the local krasotyri, sweet tomato from Kos, davos variations, nuts, homemade jams, yogurts of various fats and refreshing juices.

And it is no coincidence that the Kos Aktis Art Hotel is constantly awarded and that for 2016 it was voted among the 50 best hotels in the world by the readers of the world-famous Condé Nast Traveler magazine, at the "Readers' Choice Awards 2016".
