Cold Cuts - Cheeses since 1922

If in Greece him pasturma It was brought by the people of Asia Minor in 1922 and then spread to the local populations, at the same time in Athens it was imposed by two Armenians from Cappadocia, the Miran and Arabian.

Ninety years later, in the central Agora of Athens, descending Euripides, the smell from the pastourma of the two famous pastourmatzidika "breaks" the noses of the passers-by and leads them to the descendants of those Armenians, in two shops next to each other, which stand in the same place from 1922 and 1935 respectively.

Ο Arabian was founded in 1935, when Sarkis Arapian set up a small workshop in the old Kokkinia and at the same time opened the small shop on Evripidou Street, from where he began to supply the Athenians and the province with pasturma and soutzouki. Today, the third generation of the family business, the Fanis Theodoropoulos, a smiling and kind young man, continues the tradition of the family collaborating with the award-winning meat factory of Drama "Sary".

Except for the pastourmas the range of Arabian cold cuts includes soutzoukia in various shapes, straight, horseshoe, circular. The soutzouki, while it looks like a sausage, it is different. Its meat consists of mutton and beef and is mixed with excellent spices, which makes it very spicy, while it can be eaten raw, grilled or fried. THE crab is another proposal from Drama where mutton, beef or buffalo meat is boiled with herbs and solidified together with its broth and fat.

The Arabian delicacies, in addition to the fanatics, they have been spotted by some alternative tourism agencies that guide small groups with gastronomic concerns in Euripides in order to bow to oriental flavors. And Fanis, in addition to his own cold cuts, also has an excellent collection of cheese from small producers in the country.
