Kuzina

The Kuzina restaurant located in the center Of AthensAt Thissio, Adrianou 9. From the veranda of the beautiful neoclassical three-storey mansion, the view to the temple of Hephaestus in the foreground and in the background the gallery of Attalos, the ancient Agora and the Holy rock of the Acropolis is breathtaking. The protagonist of Kuzina is Aris Tsanaklidis, from the first generation of chefs who contributed to renewal of Greek cuisine.

His mother, who was an excellent cook, and his place, Thessaloniki, a city with a rich gastronomic tradition, were his first taste references. At the age of 20 he went to America, to Washington, to study and worked in an Italian restaurant to earn a living. There he realized his love for cooking and left Political Science to study at the Culinary Institute of America.

From there, an international career begins and up to 2006, who is involved in the creation of the Kuzina restaurant, works in well-known restaurants in the Virgin Islands, New York, Mexico, Japan, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Washington. For a period, in 1992, he returned to Greece and worked in important restaurants of Athens, such as Melrose and Spondi.

His cosmopolitanism and his experiences from so many different cultures also defined the gastronomic personality of Mars, establishing him as one of the most imaginative and daring chefs of his generation.

In Kuzina, Aris Tsanaklidis presents proposals with the purest ingredients of Greek nature, creating Greek dishes with particularly intense fusion dimensions.

Mars opens his heart to us:

"We the old batch of Modern Greek Cuisine we went through difficult times in our time to convince. The environment was not so friendly. But we opened roads. I am glad that young Greek chefs are welcome in all the gastronomically advanced countries, because they are hardworking, imaginative, flexible and have learned to work in difficult conditions. I always help them with my acquaintances to find their fortune abroad.

Greece has excellent fish, unique herbs, awesome lamb and exquisite goat and we have opportunities with them, if we use them, to grow in gastronomy.

I respect her French kitchen, I love her discipline Japanese, I single out Italian for its simplicity and I love it Mexican cuisine for its anarchy and its spicy and as Macedonian with her I feel at home ".

Aris does not create a must taste in Kuzina, because he likes to constantly change his menu, he and his team have so many ideas and suggestions to present to us!
