Argentikon Luxury Suites

The award-winning hotel Argentikon (Argentikon Luxury Suites), In Plain of Chios, is a medieval mansion designated by the Ministry of Culture as Historical monument and reference point Cultural Heritage.

Its history dates back to 1346, when the island arrived Genoese.

Ο Silvers, a high-ranking army official, was so impressed with the beauty of the island that he asked the Genoese king to stay permanently in Chios. It was written in the books of the Nobles in Genoa, he was given the title of Marquis and he was granted this estate of 32 acres in Campos for a summer residence.

The first was built in 1550 Palazzo for the family and over the years the other four became. In 1881, with the earthquake of Chios, the family returned to Genoa, but in the early 1900 Filippo Argenti, returns to the estate and begins its restoration.

In 1954, the gardener of the estate was sent to Ventimiglia, Italy, and to Nice on the Cote d'Azur, France, to specialize in garden architecture. Ligurian type gardens, which is the form that gardens in Argentina maintain to this day.

In 1993, its new owner Argentina makes a renovation, which lasted 10 years. A faithful copy has been attributed to restoration of the Estate from engravings and books of the time, but also from the testimonies of elderly people who lived on the Estate and saw great personalities of the international political scene pass through it.

The eight suites, in five separate stone buildings inside the Estate, each with its own identity, take us back many centuries with the original handmade antique furniture, the painted ceilings, the ornate chandeliers and the stone fireplaces.

Its strongest point Argentine are however the award-winning gardens offering a unique serenity and stunning beauty.

It is a pleasure to wander in the organized gardens between the cobbled and cobbled paths and to meet ornate cisterns, decorated with marble motifs, the cistern with water lilies, the fountains and the manganese wells, and to faint from the scents of the hundreds that surround the and feed it with all kinds of fruits.

In 1988, Argentina became a member of the French Union "The life of the chateau", While in 1991 the international magazine"Harpers & QueenChose the Argentinian among them in the 100 best resorts in the world.
