Η Patmos, except the unique Castle Monastery of Agios Ioannis the Theologian, the cave of the Apocalypse and the traditional settlement of Chora with the unsurpassed mansions of, is also famous for its beautiful shores. Bays, big hugs, but also tiny coves with cold crystal clear waters, sandy beaches, with pebbles, often with tamarisk trees that create small oases to rest and enjoy your swim.

A large lace describes the island giving a solution for all tastes, as it has been estimated that the outline of the coast of Patmos is proportionally ten times larger than that of Greece in terms of its mainland.

The strange thing is that the Patmos evokes a sense of intimacy and sweetness on the one hand, as the island is a stalia - not even 34 square kilometers - and as your gaze embraces it with a glance from the Town of Patmos, and on the other a sense of awe and respect the imposing Monastery and its majestic history.

This is because the northernmost island of the Dodecanese was to remain in history as the holiest place of Orthodoxy since 95 AD. The John the disciple of Jesus Christ wrote it Revelation and that is why it is a pan-Hellenic and pan-orthodox place of pilgrimage.

Trademark of the island Castle Monastery of Agios Ioannis the Theologian and the country that surrounds it. Patmos in 1981 was declared a sacred island by a special law of the Greek Parliament and since 1999 it has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

These two events prevented Patmos from following the path of anarchic building and tourism development and to keep intact all its natural and cultural physiognomy, thus creating an identity of a tourist destination addressed to cosmopolitan and cultured visitors.
