Gogs

The goggles is a traditional pasta of Laconia and Argolida. They are prepared with flour, water, a little oil and salt and they have shell shape.

This shape occurs because during their preparation, cylinders are created, 1-2 points thick similar to the little finger, which are then cut to a length of 2-3 cm and then pressed by dragging the finger to one side to begin to folds, looking like a shell.

After boiling and draining, pour hot oil or butter, grated mizithra and alternatively with tomato sauce.

Goggles are usually served as a complete dish and not as an accompaniment to another meal.

Gogi is a food that was traditionally made by hand on Halloween and nowadays is produced by local pasta factories and is served in taverns and restaurants in the area of Laconia and especially in Monemvasia. Many taverns make them themselves, so if the goggles are fresh they have a much tastier taste.
