Malva Olive Oil - Nikos Maroulakos

Ο Nikos Maroulakos founded the Malva Olive Oil in 1998 in St. Nikolaos of Monemvasia in order to offer the final consumer one of the highest quality Greek extra virgin olive oils.

The owners and facilities of the company where its products are standardized are located in the area of Sideri Angelonas at the tenth kilometer of Molaon - Monemvasia, and the privately owned olive groves from where the olive oil is standardized and the olives are collected from the village of Agios Nikolaos Monemvasia, which is 250 meters high. meters from the sea and is 14 kilometers from the city Monemvasia.

Ο Nikos Maroulakos is a typical example of an olive grower who set up a printing house to be able to gain value from the products of his land and tells us his story.

«I was born in 1962 in Agios Nikolaos, a beautiful traditional village with centuries-old olive groves and many Byzantine churches of special beauty. My father was a farmer and he had 300 olives. I was an only child and I took care of the estates and in the 1980s I grew wild radish, garlic, peas that had good prices in the market. With the income I bought other estates and planted half of the Athinoelia and the rest Koronaki (Koroneiki).

Around 1996 an expatriate through my friend winemaker George Tsimpidis asked me for 20 tons of extra virgin olive oil and then my eyes were opened. Until then we gave the oil in bulk to the Italians who came and still come and take it from us with their large stainless steel tanks. I started standardizing with meager technological means.

In 2014 I joined the Leader program and built a modern printing house. From the 100 acres of olive grove and the 3.000 organic trees in Malva Olive Oil we produce annually 12 tons of standardized extra virgin olive oil that is all exported, 50% to Germany, 48% to other countries and I owe a little to my friends. At the same time I standardize and market the extra virgin oil from local olive growers of the order of 150 tons, and thanks to the excellent climate of our region, the ideal soil conditions, the great sunshine, and the air of the Myrtos Sea, a truly unsurpassed product is created. , which is promoted in the markets with the golden green color MAUVE. I have also collaborated with international and Greek companies and I have standardized oil with their labels.»

In order to ensure the quality of its products, Malva Olive Oil has a multi-level control system such as HACCP certification, BIO certification, while at the same time producing and trading Kalamon variety olives in packages of 2kg, 5kg, 12kg.
