Entering the Castle town of Monemvasia shortly after we pass the large entrance gate and after walking a few meters, we are flooded with the delicate aromas of baked doughs. Immediately after in our left hand under the Chrysovulo restaurant, we will meet her Pita Fresca. It is another culinary activity of his team Moni Emvasis Luxury Suites, led by the businesswoman Nektaria Vravaki, made up of people with unique ideas, great passion and undivided love for gastronomy.

Η Pita Fresca, as the title states, is a store that ferments and produces in front of the customer's eyes pies, and other culinary goodies and sweets.

The categories of Pita Fresca dishes are breakfast, traditional pies, pizzas, wraps, sandwiches, salads, sweets, coffee smoothies, vegan and delicatessen. Orders are placed on the spot as street food, but you can order by phone, to pick up without waiting, and there is also home delivery.

Pita Fresca breads they are very interesting because they are fermented with various other ingredients and get the corresponding flavors and colors (olive, saffron, linseed, turmeric, rye, etc.)

But what impressed me the most was the effort to develop the coils, to overcome the stereotype wrapped souvlaki and create wraps, with diva flavors of Greek gastronomy.

So, as we tried and saw and in menu of the shop, the following are presented ambitiously wrapped up:

  • handmade kebab in a pita with flavored yogurt, oriental sauce, and smoked paprika,
  • pork steak in a pita with tzatziki, spicy sauce, pickled Florinis pepper, tomato, onion and paprika,
  • fried squid in pita with taramo salad, spicy sauce, onion, smoked paprika,
  • marinated octopus in a pie with fava beans, fresh coriander, and hot sauce,
  • handmade dolmades in pita with tzatziki, fatty onion and dill,
  • Cypriot pita with falafel, smoked eggplant and sauce with tahini and honey,
  • Cypriot pie with seftalia and flavored yogurt dip,
  • grilled vegetables in a vegan cheese and tomato pie,
  • fresh salmon in pie with tartar sauce

In the team of Pita Fresca, which opened in March 2022, the leader in pies is Panagiota Sotiropoulou from Ilia, performer on the scene of the preparation plant - for the first time working on the site -, while in the bakery the first word is Panagiota Psychogiou.
