During our visit to vineyard of Naoussa it was natural to go through the Boutari Winery in Naoussa the company's Boutaris Winery, the most historic winery in Macedonia founded in 1879 by Ioannis Boutaris and today is ruled by his grandson Konstantinos Boutaris.

The 1906 The first privately owned winery & retail wine cellar was built in Naoussa, which has now been converted into Wine Museum. The company sealed its course with the creation of "NAOUSSA BOUTARI»: The first Greek red bottled wine PDO which was released in the Greek market and was the trademark of Greece in red wines.

In the 1980s The two grandchildren of Ioannis and sons of Stelios, Konstantinos and Giannis Boutaris, the first in the financial and administrative part and the second in the wine sector, decide to expand the wine and viticultural activities in important viticultural zones of Designation of Origin throughout Greece. They invest in vineyards, wineries and equipment, creating wineries in Goumenissa in 1984, in Attica in 1980 in collaboration with Roxani Matsa, in Santorini in 1989. In 1990 they pioneer once again by investing in wine tourism, through the creation of places to visit and educational programs in its wineries in Naoussa, Goumenissa, Santorini and later in Crete, while in 1991 they expanded to Mantineia with the acquisition of the Kampa winery.

In 1997 the two brothers separate and Giannis Boutaris creates it Kyr-Giannis Estate with two wineries in Naoussa and Amynteo.

The company Boutaris Winery continues its expansion in 2004 in Crete with the acquisition of a vineyard and the creation of a winery in Skalani, while in 2006 the Boutari winery is once again a pioneer being the first Greek winery to expand its activities outside Greece. Acquires the Domaine de Mayrac, a winery surrounded by a 700-acre organic vineyard in the South of France.

Boutari Winery in Naoussa is a milestone in the history and philosophy of the Boutari company, since from here, 130 years ago, the course of the company that promoted Greek wine inside and outside the borders and starred in the development of Greek winemaking until today began.

The historic wine cellar of Boutari Winery, one of the largest aging cellars with more than 3.000 barrels and the oldest Greek wines in Greece, has the ability to watch a unique multi-spectacle in the world of wine and the history of the company.
