Sarris Winery in Svoronata

The Sarris Winery in Svoronata, is located in the southwestern part of Kefalonia, 10 km from the island's capital, Argostoli and close to the island's airport.

It is a creation of a young Kefalonian, his Panos Sarris, who after winning 2007nd place in the "National Sommelier Competition", in 2 became a Certified Sommelier by the Court of Masters Sommeliers in London and since then after visiting wineries, wine fairs and restaurants around the world, decided to build the own winery near Avithos Preview restaurant which he had already created in 2003 on the beautiful beach of Abythos.

So in the mid-2010 he bought an abandoned building on the street, a few hundred meters from his restaurant, threw a lot of work and a lot of taste and in 2017 inaugurated the ultra-elegant winery of.

The location of the tasting area is privileged, because it overlooks the beautiful gardens of the area while to the west the eye caresses the sea.

Ο Panos Sarris during one of our visits, he said characteristically:

«At Sarris Winery, the natural way of winemaking is followed with the non-use of oenological additives, the spontaneous fermentation, the minimal use of sulfite but also the absence of technological interventions and filtration. Our vineyards, located in mountainous areas of the island, and poor soils, gravelly, of limestone origin with yields that sometimes do not exceed 300 kg per acre, we take care of with minimal interventions, leaving the microclimate to find the ideal way of expression.

All the labels of our winery are of limited production, with our Robola belonging to the wines with a protected designation of origin, PDO Robola Kefalonia».

The labels of the estate in terms of aesthetics are special, very modern and differ from the standard ones, created by his sister who is a graphic designer and lives in Athens.

SARRIS, ROBOLA OF KEFALONIA 2019

A wine with refreshing acidity, complexity, mineral character. Soft lemon color and elegant aromas of pear, green apple, citrus, lemon peel and a wonderful mineral sensation

UNGRAFTED VINES OF ROBOLA

Moderate lemon color and delicate aromas of lemon, grapefruit, citrus, peach and white flowers. Brave dose of minerality. In the mouth it has an impressive structure, medium to full body, fatty feeling and sharp acidity.

V FOR VOSTILIDI

Gold color on the border of orange but bright. Explosive nose, full of every citrus you can think of dipped in honey and dried chrysanthemums. In the mouth all this becomes more intense, more mineral, more smoky, more spicy. Tannic substance and sharp acidity that is combined even with red meat.
