Red mullet

The Red mullet at Shadow is the first cocktail bar with 100% Greek drinks of the island and one of the most interesting in the Aegean. It is located at the end of the pier of the old port, towards Plakes, between the shops of the fish market (its name suggests its location).

It first operated 2021 and its creators are the Tasos Livadaros and Vassilis Nikolaou, two young people born in Skiathos and is the second bar they have together with Ginfish (and this pun with a drink in the fish market) located next to each other.

The 2 lads, friends from children, in parallel with their studies, worked together for several years in nightclubs.

At one point they decided to do something of their own, and at the age of 22 they dared a winter shop, a tavern.

And after their venture was crowned with success, they dared the next one, to open a summer shop. They tell us about their adventure to open a bar in the fish market!

«Ginfish inspired by Ginfizz a classic cocktail drunk by English tourists. So we made Ginfizz Ginfish because the store used to be part of the fish market. A shop that in the summers became one of the most popular hangouts of tourists and not only. It is famous for its unique cocktails and pure drinks. A shop that disappears in winter and becomes a fish market. So an idea, a small shop could fit our biggest dreams!

Ginfish has been operating since the summer of 2014 and this year (2021) we moved the Ginfish to the next building, and in its place we wanted to house our new idea, something that has the scent of our place

That's how it was born Red mullet, one cocktail bar based on Greek spirits! In the shop along with Greek drinks you will find Greek beers, exclusively Skiathos wines, local sweets and cold dishes with Greek aroma.»

The cocktails that I singled out are:

Aegean Sour Ouzo with homemade honey and pepper syrup of passion fruit and aromatic bitters.

Shining & Stormy Silk and tangerine liqueur in combination with vanilla and ginger beer

Βrousko Red Chios wine and mastic in combination with syrup and strawberry

The drinks, from one surprise to another, the unobstructed view to the village and Bourtzi, the service very polite, the music "wanted" at low volume and the relaxed atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the port.
