Corfu Sea Farm - Fish Farms of Corfu

The company Corfu Fish Farms - Corfu Sea Farm founded in 1992 by Sotiri Papadopoulos with the aim of producing sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) and sea bream (Sparus aurata), species of exceptional nutritional value and rich in Omega 3 fatty acids.

The company's facilities are located at Corfu, west of Kassiopi in a bay overlooking the sea and where the deep, open waters and strong sea currents provide excellent breeding conditions.

We visited the Corfu Sea Farm site and were impressed by it natural environment and class and organization that prevailed.

So it is no coincidence that exports of (the main volume of its production) company very soon expanded beyond Greece, Italy and France and to the United Kingdom, America and Canada.

We talked to the new generation, him Giannis Sot. Papadopoulos, who also gave us the tour:

«Our experience has shown that the old saying "we are what we eat" is right for people but also for fish. This is why we insist that our fish have a diet that is as close as possible to that of the wild. The fish foods we use are very rich in natural ingredients and do not contain genetically modified organisms or proteins from terrestrial animals.

The exposed location of our marine park on the high seas, the low fish load (small number of fish in the tanks) and the superior quality of the food are the three basic elements that enable us to cultivate fish of excellent taste, flesh texture and longevity.

Corfu Sea Farm specializes in production of large fish. Specifically, our large sea bass exceed 3 kg and our sea bream 1,5 kg.

We also have the philosophy of quality through continuous improvement in all areas. We believe that consumers have the right to enjoy fish of high quality, safety and which are subject to strict controls. Our constant pursuit of quality has allowed us to be preferred as a reliable source of high quality fresh fish by top chefs in Italy, France, the United Kingdom, the USA, and Canada.»

Corfu Sea Farm is operational with the most recognized international certification standards for food safety and the protection of consumers and the environment (Friend of the Sea, Global GAP, ISO 22000, 9001, 14001, BRC & IFS) and the packaging of the fish is done in modern, privately owned facilities that allow fast packaging in a temperature-controlled environment, thus ensuring that they reach consumers fresh as they were at the time of disposal.
