How is this documented? Asking my sources (chefs, hoteliers, friends and acquaintances) about the most interesting taverns of the island, there was not a single one that did not indicate it and even with emphasis "lest you go to Bellos!».

Secondly, entering the trip advisor, I was impressed by its rating of 351 comments, 95% of which had rated it with excellent, very good, with the clear majority describing it as excellent. There may be many objections to the comments of the customers of this platform for their accuracy, but you rarely meet such a consensus.

Finally, in gastronomic magazines, printed or electronic, the good reviews for Klimataria confirmed the high quality of her food.

Klimataria is a small family business of Nikos and Lily Bellou which opened in February 1997 in the picturesque fishing village of Benitses in Corfu, when the Bellou family turned their doll house of Corfiot architecture into a restaurant-tavern that operates from February to November only in the evenings.

Because Klimataria has only 17 tables (12 in the courtyard and 5 in the beautiful hall), it is obvious that you have to book a table, two or three days in advance.

What characterizes the tavern of Bellos is one tidiness and one class.

Η Corfiot finesse tied with the temperament and the Irish method of Mrs. Lilly and the result is excellent.

The Lady Lily in cooking, the master Nick with characteristic calmness and courtesy in orders and their son Costas - studied Management in Dublin - in serving is an orchestra that plays beautiful melodies, the most delicious flavors of Corfiot food.

The salads, rustic with exquisite tomatoes and boiled zucchini, which you can rarely taste like them again. Feta either in the village or plain is a rare soft and delicious cheese from Vonitsa produced especially for Mr. Bellos.

Marinated anchovies and fried squid (brood) are the first to prepare the mood with their excellent quality. The specialty of Klimataria is Corfiot food and especially seafood (from meat there is only pastitsado). That is, food that is made, in the pan, in the pot and in the oven (the old Corfiots did not use a grill).

These delicacies include braised octopus, steamed mussels, mixed shells (scallops, quinces, shiny) and the specialties that enhance the taste are the spicy burdeto (fish red sauce, paprika, white pepper, onion with white pepper) sauce, garlic, pepper, lemon) and the fish in the pot (with fresh tomatoes, onions, celery, potatoes), all three with fish of the day (sterile, scorpions, grouper, christmas fish) selected daily by Mr. Nikos daily by the Fish Market.

No sophistication, no haste and sloppiness, with courtesy, ritual, atmosphere of order and calm even in the difficult moments of August, and all this in the service of the excellent homemade Corfiot flavors of a family tavern.

These are not a few to characterize the Klimataria of Bellos as the best tavern of Corfu.
